CRO Audit Chrome Extension
Last updated: March 2026
This privacy policy explains how the CRO Audit Chrome Extension (“the Extension”), operated by Optimise Digital (“we”, “us”, “our”), handles your data. We are committed to transparency and protecting your privacy.
1. Data We Collect
The Extension collects only the minimum data required to function:
- Extension ID: A randomly generated identifier (UUID) created when you install the Extension. This ID is not linked to your identity, email address, or any personal information. It is used solely to manage your daily audit limit.
- Page URL: When you click “Run CRO Audit”, the URL of the page you are auditing is sent to our server to perform the analysis. We only receive the URL of pages you explicitly choose to audit.
- Audit selections: The conversion goal and business type you select before running an audit are sent with the request to provide context for the analysis.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
- Browsing history or activity
- Personal information (name, email, phone number)
- Cookies, login credentials, or authentication data
- Data from pages you do not explicitly audit
- Form data, passwords, or financial information
- Any data from other tabs or windows
3. How We Use Your Data
- Extension ID: Used to enforce the daily audit limit (2 audits per day). The ID is stored on our server in memory and is not persisted to a database.
- Page URL: Used to fetch and analyse the webpage content for conversion rate optimisation scoring. Audit results are stored temporarily for retrieval but are not shared with third parties.
- Internal notifications: When an audit is run, our team receives an internal notification for usage monitoring purposes. This notification includes the audited URL and a truncated extension ID (not your personal information).
4. Data Storage
- In your browser: Your Extension ID is stored in Chrome sync storage (persists across devices where you are signed in). Your recent audit history (last 10 results) and daily usage count are stored in Chrome local storage on your device.
- On our server: Audit results are stored temporarily. The Extension ID and daily usage counts are held in server memory and reset when the server restarts. We do not maintain a permanent database of extension users.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your data to third parties. Audit data is processed on servers operated by Optimise Digital and is not shared with external services, advertisers, or analytics providers.
6. Your Rights
You can at any time:
- Remove the Extension: Uninstalling the Extension deletes all locally stored data (Extension ID, audit history, usage counts).
- Clear stored data: You can clear the Extension's stored data through Chrome's extension settings without uninstalling.
- Request data deletion: Contact us to request deletion of any audit data associated with your Extension ID.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
8. Contact
If you have questions about this privacy policy or your data, please contact us at our contact page or email us at hello@optimisedigital.com.au.
